DETAILS:

This is a strength class for the ladies — not because we’re using different movements or different methodology, but because we’re building a community of strong women interested in growing together, learning from one another, and supporting each other. In my experience as a trainer, women are not only fed lies, misdirections, and gimmicks as it relates to HOW to strength train, but the industry assumes our goals are centered around getting smaller or thinner. Our aim here is to build you up (figuratively, and perhaps literally), not break you down.

This class will be periodized (think: 9-12 week blocks/mesocycles, 3-4 week microcycles), and focused on building strength in a myriad of ways. We will use progressive overload, meaning programming will not feel highly varied from week to week. From true, traditional strength training using compound lifts to accessory and unilateral work, from isometric training to power/speed, from powerlifting-style training to bodybuilding-style training, we’ll do it all at some point. What we won’t be doing much, if at all, is conditioning or circuit training. Just lift, rest, repeat.

RANGE & RESILIENCE

WHO: All people, all levels, with the exception of those currently struggling with severe or acute joint or muscle pain (we cannot assess or troubleshoot effectively in a large-format class)

WHEN: Saturdays 8:00 am - 9:15 am

PRENATAL & POSTPARTUM GROUP TRAINING

THE FLOW STATE

WHO: For all who are currently pregnant, postpartum (4 weeks through 1 year), or interested in moving in accordance with their hormonal shifts from week to week.

WHEN: Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30 am - 9:30 am

DETAILS:

We all have masculine and feminine energy within us, just varying in balance and expression. Energy that is more “masculine” is more competitive, measured, prescriptive, disciplined, etc., while “feminine” energy is more intuitive, collaborative, grounded, sensing/feeling, etc. This class is built with the feminine in mind, as the prenatal and postpartum seasons are perfectly suited for this approach, given how much change is happening in a relatively short time period.

This class has the same building blocks of the group classes we already offer at CFA — skill, strength, conditioning — but with an additional emphasis on connecting mind-body, breathwork, creating a strong and stable core, and moving with the body you have on that particular day. It is prenatal, postpartum, and cycle-friendly, whether you menstruate or cycle with the moon or something else.

This is a class I’ve dreamed of for years, given my passions and purpose. Honest discussions about sensitive subjects are likely and welcomed. Disrespectful or judgmental language/behavior of any sort will not be tolerated.

You can still be a badass and work really freakin hard while moving with a different energy. Some amount of personal training may be required prior to joining class in order to move safely and effectively. Please be sure to book a consultation with me prior to buying a class pass to determine if this is necessary
